Company Overview

FolandTech, Inc. was founded in 1980 by John C. Foland who graduated from Illinois Institute of Technology with a BS in Mathematics in 1970.

After working on mainframe computers for 8 years at Motorola and Sun Company, Mr. Foland became an independent consultant just as the personal computer was about to change the data processing industry.

Although their initial contracts were still for mainframe systems, the ultimate goal was for FolandTech to evolve into a company that could meet the demand created by the microcomputer explosion.   In fact, soon after the introduction of the IBM PC in 1981, FolandTech became one of the first consulting services to offer customized software development in the Dallas-Ft. Worth Metroplex.

For the last 35 years, FolandTech has developed software for many Texas companies (see the Reference Section to the right).   In addition, several products have been developed for software vendors who subsequently sold them to Fortune 500 companies including American Airlines, AmeriTech, BellAtlantic, BellSouth, EDS, and MCI.
